Promoting diversity counts

Human rights are indivisible and belong to all of us equally. That is what we at Neste believe and we act according to this belief every day at every branch office all around the world. At Neste, people are equal regardless of their gender, age, ethnic or national background, beliefs, sexuality or any other grounds related to their person.

All of our employees have the opportunity and the right to be themselves at work – and we expect the same from our partners.

This is a business matter too. Customers are more conscious than ever about the ways they choose to spend their money. Businesses are expected to be actively involved in social issues and public debate in addition to being service providers. Younger people especially want businesses to direct their words and actions towards promoting equality, and we at Neste want to be a part of this movement.

Promoting diversity also means that we will continue to be able to work with the top people in our field. Diversity at work allows us to take different views and ideas into consideration. It allows each of us to focus on what is important: utilizing and developing our own expertise. We want every employee to feel safe and able to do their best in a worthy and appreciative company.

But most importantly supporting and striving for diversity is the right thing to do, and it benefits us all. That is why Neste has chosen diversity as one of its areas of development and will be participating in the larger public debate surrounding it. For the same reasons, Neste supports Helsinki Pride. All of us deserve to be seen, heard and to be a respected member of our community.
