Neste Oil’s new NExBTL renewable diesel plant in Singapore has been named Project of the Year in 2010 by the online magazine, Biofuels Digest. The plant, the world’s largest renewable diesel facility, was started up on-schedule and on-budget in November 2010. It has a capacity of 800,000 t/a and cost approx. €550 million.

“In renewable diesel there are two companies that are getting it done, in terms of putting fuel on the street in meaningful volumes. Those are Dynamic Fuels and Neste Oil,” according to Biofuels Digest. “The Project of the Year award went to Neste Oil for the completion and start-up of its massive 240 million gallon renewable diesel plant in Singapore.”

Biofuels Digest’s annual awards go to companies that have been particularly successful in R&D related to biofuels and renewable chemicals and commercializing these products. A jury made up of the magazine’s journalists selects the winners from proposals sent in by readers.
