Neste is the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel and renewable jet fuel refined from waste and residues, introducing renewable solutions also to the polymers and chemicals industries. We are also a technologically advanced refiner of high-quality oil products, exploring ways to start using waste plastics as a raw material to produce new plastics.
Neste manufactures its high-quality products in Finland, the Netherlands and Singapore
Our renewable solutions are produced at the Porvoo, Rotterdam, and Singapore refineries, while diverse crude oil based products are refined in Porvoo. In addition, our plant in Sluiskil, the Netherlands, is specialized in pre-treatment of renewable raw materials for our renewable products refineries.
Certified operations driving systematic environmental development
All of Neste's renewable product refineries are International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) certified or approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Porvoo, Rotterdam and Singapore refineries have the independently audited ISO 14001 environmental certifications. The certification confirms the systematic development and compliance of Neste’s environmental management, processes and practices with international standards.

Chemical recycling
Neste to receive funding from the EU Innovation Fund for chemical recycling project in Porvoo
Neste has received a positive grant decision for up to EUR 135 million from the EU Innovation Fund for the company’s project to build chemical recycling capacities at its Porvoo refinery in Finland.
RENEWABLES
Neste invests in its world scale renewable products refinery in Rotterdam
Neste has made the final investment decision to invest into new renewable products production capacity in Rotterdam. The Rotterdam refinery expansion investment will expand Neste’s overall renewable product capacity by 1.3 million tons per annum.
BASE OILS
Neste to sell its base oils business to Chevron
Neste has signed an agreement to sell its existing base oils business to Chevron Global Energy Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation. As part of the divestment, the parties have also agreed on a long-term offtake for Neste’s base oils supply from Porvoo, Finland. The transaction has been approved by regulatory authorities, and has been completed on 1 April 2022.
INNOVATION
Neste to receive funding from the EU Innovation Fund
The EU Innovation Fund has given a positive grant decision of EUR 88 million funding to Neste’s green hydrogen and CO2 capture & storage project, which aims to quickly and efficiently reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the Porvoo refinery in Finland.
Co-processing
Neste works on next step towards commercializing chemical recycling
Proceeding on the target of commercializing chemical recycling of waste plastic, Neste is conducting a feasibility study to examine investing in capacity for processing liquefied waste plastic at its refinery in Porvoo, Finland. The goal is to scale up processing capabilities for liquefied waste plastic by implementing proprietary technologies to pretreat and upgrade liquefied waste plastic and integrating the technologies into the refinery operations.
